Signs of Resurrection: What a Believer Should Do Dr. Khandaker Abdullah Jahangir Professor, Department of Al-Hadith, Islamic University, Kushtia Chairman, As-Sunnah Trust

Like other matters of belief, it is the duty of the believer to believe in the Qur’an and Hadith in the simplest sense. It is not our responsibility to know their interpretation and nature. In most cases, the explanation of this issue creates baseless and endless controversy. For example: Is the landslide mentioned in the hadith an earthquake in Turkey? Earthquake in Iran? Japan tsunami? Or will it happen in the future? When will it happen? Or: Who are the Gog and Magog, are they Tatars? Genghis Khan’s army? China? Any other race? Where do they live? Will they come out or not? Or: Who is the Dajjal? The state of Israel? America? Is the Dajjal out? Or in the future? When will he appear? By wasting time in the name of such questions or research on the signs of Resurrection, the believer will not gain anything in this world and in the Hereafter, but he will suffer terrible loss. Satan engages the believer in such pointless debates to evade the urgent work of worship, invitation, earning, right of Allah, right of servant etc.

It is the duty of the believer in general to believe that all these signs will be seen before the Day of Resurrection. Everything that has been said in the Qur’an and Sahih Hadith on all these matters is true. When that happens, believers will know that the Hour is coming. God knows the details of these. The believer was not given the responsibility to know the explanation. It is the duty of the believer to practice and research knowledge that will be useful in this world and in the Hereafter. Islam instructs research to find solutions to people’s practical life by searching the Qur’an-Hadith. Islam instructs research in all aspects of human welfare, including medicine, science, history, and geography. Research on all these issues leads people to a definite result. But pointless debates in the name of research on the subject of the unseen do not yield any results. One cannot reach a definite conclusion even after thousands of years of speculation and debate in the name of research on what Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) meant by Gog and Magog or Dajjal. Imam Mahdi

In terms of Hadith, Fiqh and Aqeedah, the word ‘Imam’ is synonymous with ‘Khalifa’ or ‘Head of State’. Mahdi means ‘guided’. For this reason, ‘Imam Mahdi’ literally means ‘Head of State guided by Allah’.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) referred to his successors as ‘Khulafa Rashidin Mahdiyyin’ or ‘Mahdi Rashid Khalifa’. From this we know that all the Rashidin in Khulafa were ‘Mahdi’ or ‘Hedayat-received’. However, it has been narrated in various hadiths that another ‘Mahdi head of state’ will take power in the last age. There is no hadith in Sahih Bukhari or Sahih Muslim mentioning Mahdi. Hadiths on this subject are compiled in other hadith books. In addition to some saheeh hadeeths, many weak hadeeths exist and countless false hadeeths have been propagated in this regard. Here are some acceptable hadiths on this subject.

The first hadith: Abdullah bin Masood said that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
لو لم يبق من الدنيا إلا يوم لطول الله ذلك اليوم حتى يبعث فيه رجلا منى أو من أهل بيتى (يملك العرب / يلي رجل من أهل بيتى) يواطئ اسمه اسمى واسم أبيه اسم أبى يملأ الأرض قسطا وعدلا كما ملئت ظلما وجورا.
“If there is only one day left in the world, then Allah will prolong that day and send a person from my descendants whose name and father’s name will be like my name and my father’s name. ” [2]

Second Hadith: Abu Sayyid Khudri (RA) said, the Prophet (SAW) said:
The Mahdi is the best of the best.
“Mahdi is from me (descendants), her forehead is hairless (there will be no hair on the front of her head) and her nose is smooth. He will fill the world full of oppression with justice. He will reign for seven years. ” [3]

Third Hadith: Umm Salama (RA) said, the Prophet (SAW) said:

Cara Rahafan Tabelic this firms of the Mikeshacious Royutterback, ……………. The Wahd Baazorea Rahman Reflusions Rumna Bazeal الَمُسْلِمُونَ
“There will be differences at the time of the death of a Caliph. Then a man from Medina will flee to Mecca. Then some people in Mecca would come to him and bring him out. In spite of his reluctance and dislike, they will marry him in the middle of the Thousand Aswad and Maqam Ibrahim. An army from Syria will be dispatched against him. At Baida, between Makkah and Madinah, the forces will be destroyed by landslides. When the people see it, Abdal from Syria and people from Iraq come to Iraq and thousands from Assad and Maqam Ibrahim take their vows. Then a person from the Quraish tribe will stand against him (Mahdi), whose family will be of Kalb. This person will send a force against him (Mahdi). But Mahdi’s forces would defeat the forces of the Kalb tribe. The one who is not present in the distribution of wealth (warlike wealth) of the Kalb tribe is unlucky. Then he (Mahdi) will distribute wealth and act according to the circumcision of his Prophet (peace be upon him) among the people. And Islam will be established at the base of the earth. He will remain like this for seven (in other descriptions: no) years. Then he will die and the Muslims will offer his salatul funeral. “

The Muhaddis differed on the accuracy of the hadith. Allama Ibn al-Qayyim and other Muhaddis have referred to the hadith as Hasan and Sahih stage. Shaykh Albani, on the other hand, mentions the hadith as a yaf. [4]

The fourth hadith: Abu Sa’id Khudri (ra) said, the Prophet (sa) said:
Next losser Rahdani are teneteries to be Female beforehafar
“Mahdi will come in my community. If less then seven (years), or not (years). Then the blessings will become public in my community. They will enjoy abundance and blessings that they have never experienced before. All abundance will be given to the Ummah and Mahdi will not store anything without giving them away. Then the wealth will be limited. If a person says, ‘O Mahdi, give me one, then Mahdi will say: Take you.’ [5]

The fifth hadith: Umm Salamah (ra) said: The Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
الْمَهْدِيُّ مِنْ عِتْرَتِي مِنْ وَلَدِ فَاطِمَةَ
“Mahdi is from my family, descendants of Fatima.” [6]

Sixth Hadith: Sa’awan (ra) said, the Prophet (sa) said:
Gymouth Imin vuliaw Bahwana 73 iarrala معدعد معرفت ………
“Three people will fight for your reserves, all three are children of the Caliph. Not a single one of the three of them can afford it. Then from the east will come the flags of tomorrow, then they will kill you in a way that no one has done before. Then he said something I couldn’t remember. Then he said: When you see it, you will pledge it. If you swim on the ice, you will buy it; Because he is the Caliph Mahdi of Allah. ” Imam Bazar, Hakim Naisapuri, Jahabi, Boseiri, Suyuti and other Muhaddis have called the Hadith as Sahih. The last sentence of the Albani hadith is referred to as the Yeef. [7]

Some of the hadiths by Bukhari and Muslim Imam Mahdi have been regarded by the scholars as relevant. Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
كَيْفَ ْنْتُمْ إِذَا نَزَلَ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ فِيكُمْ وَإِمَامُكُمْ مِنْكُمْ
“Do you know what will happen to you when Jesus, the son of Mary, descends into you and your ‘priest’ becomes one of you?” [8]

In another hadith, Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
KulZER Hazor –
“Some people in my Ummah will fight from the victorious over the Hawk to the Resurrection. He said: Then, when Jesus’ son Isa (A) comes down, the Emir says to them: Let us pray for us as priests. He will say: No, you are rich over each other, it is an honor from God for this Ummah. ” [9]

In the light of these hadiths, the scholars say that Isa (a) will descend at the time of Imam Mahdi (as) and he will lead the prayers in his presence.
From the above hadiths we can know the following:
(A) ‘Imam Mahdi’ means a guided head of state. Abundance, peace, justice and Islam will be established in the world by taking the state power.
(B) He is a descendant of Rasulullah (SAW) and will rule for 8 or 9 years.
(C) Jesus (pbuh) will descend during his reign.
(D) His Imamate, Khilafah or rule will be centered in Arabia.
(E) There will be a power struggle before he takes power. His pledge will be next to Baitullah. Fighters will come from Syria, Iraq and the East.
(F) The believer has no responsibility in the matter of taking power, pledge etc. of this head of state. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that these things will happen. However, when his opposing army is destroyed in a landslide, the armies of Syria, Iraq and the East join his forces and his authority as a whole is established or the Muslim Ummah recognizes him, then it is the duty of the believer to swear allegiance to him as head of state. A.

Regarding Imam Mahdi, Imam Sufyan Saori said:
If he dies, he will not follow him until he gathers people together
If he walks in your door, you will not swear allegiance to him; Until all people agree on him. [10]
