Is it obligatory on every Muslim to know the conditions of La ilaha illallah? If you do not know the person will become a disbeliever?

Alhamdulillah ..

The bearer of the message of Tauhid will benefit in the Hereafter, he will be the dweller of Paradise, he will be saved from Hell; If he knows the meaning of this saying and acts accordingly, it is a well-known and fixed matter of Islamic Sharia.

Sheikh Sulaiman bin Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab (R) said:

It is narrated on the authority of Ubada bin Shameet that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever testifies that there is no true god but Allaah; He has no partner and Muhammad is His servant and messenger; Jesus is the servant of God, his messenger and his word; What he threw at Maryam and from her the spirit and paradise is true and hell is true: Allah will admit her to paradise; Whatever his period.

The statement of the hadith: “Whoever testifies that there is no true god but Allah”, that is, the person who utters this statement knowing the meaning of this statement and intends to act openly and secretly according to its demands; As the words of Allah indicate: فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ (Therefore know that there is no true god but Allah). And His word: لاِلاَّ مَنْ شَهِدَ بِالْحَقِّ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ (But those who testify knowingly are different). However, if you utter this word without knowing its meaning and without fulfilling the demands, it will not be of any use on the basis of the consensus of the scholars. ”[Taisirul Azizil Hamid (p. 51)]

However, it is incumbent upon every Muslim to know the meaning and claim of this saying as a whole. That’s enough. It is not known from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that he interpreted these conditions for every new Muslim in the same way as the Book.

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (R) said:

There is no doubt that it is obligatory on every person to believe in what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) has brought in general and in general. There is also no doubt that what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) brought is obligatory kifaya to know thoroughly. Because it falls within the scope of conveying what Allah has sent to His Messenger. The Qur’an is Tadabbur (understanding), meditation, understanding, knowledge of the Book and Wisdom, memorization of Zikr, call to goodness, command of good deeds and prohibition of evil deeds, invocation to the Lord through argument in Wisdom-Waz-Uttam way etc. So it is obligatory upon them to pay the penalty. ”

It is not obligatory for every Muslim to memorize these conditions and not knowing them will not invalidate his faith. Rather, the instruction is to abide by these conditions and to purify one’s faith.

A Muslim, even though he is an ordinary person, acts accordingly; Ever since he had the love of Allah and His Messenger in his heart, the love of obedience to them, the respect for the Shari’ah documents, and the observance of whatever news has reached him as much as possible.

Sheikh Hafez Al-Hakami (R) said:

“La-ilaha illallah: A person will not benefit just by saying it verbally; Until these seven conditions are met. Fulfilling the conditions means: these are found in the servant and the servant is steadfast on them; Except for some that conflict with these.

Its purpose is not to memorize the words of these terms over and over again. How many ordinary people have these conditions and he fulfills them; But if he is told: the conditions are stated; Can’t say

Again, how many memorizers have memorized the words of these terms; But he runs like an arrow in these conditions. You will see that he is involved in many things that conflict with these conditions. Tawfiq is in the hands of Allah and Allah is the helper. “

Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz (R) said:

“It is obligatory on all Muslims to: implement this Kalima; By defending its terms. Whenever the meaning of these conditions is found in a Muslim and he is found to be steadfast in it, then he is a Muslim; Whose blood and wealth are forbidden; Even if he does not know these conditions in detail. Because the purpose is to know the truth and act accordingly. Although no believer knows the details of the conditions. “

However, knowing these conditions is obligatory. There must be someone in the Muslim Ummah who knows these conditions and teaches people. This includes preaching the religion which Allah has sent His Messenger with the responsibility of preaching; As stated in the above statement of Shaikhul Islam.

Shaikhul Islam further said:

“On the other hand, what Muslims are obligated to know about an individual will vary in proportion to what a person is capable of, needs, knowledge and as an individual. It is not obligatory on a person who is unable to acquire any knowledge or understand any subtle knowledge; Which is obligatory on the able person. It is obligatory on the person who has heard and understood the documents to acquire something of detailed knowledge; It is not obligatory on the person who has not heard the documents. There are some obligations on muftis, muhaddiths and debaters which are not obligatory on those who do not belong to this category. “
